2002 - every journey starts with a vision
In 2002, Christian Tschida had a vision. This vision was to develop quality tools to meet focus pullers demanding and ever-changing needs . He convinced a business partner to join him and founded cmotion on 20th February 2002. cmotion started out in a small rented apartment in Vienna where a team of young, enthusiastic and experienced developers started work on the first products.Facts by end of the year:

no products – only a vision & mission
2003 – real office & first sales
After 6 months we moved into our first “real office”. And, after 18 months of development, we were ready to introduce our first cmotion products at the International IBC Expo; the “legendary” coperate, camin and cdisplay.During this show, the first 5 cmotion systems were sold to German based P+S Technik. P+S soon became our first official sales partner and are still working with us today – Thank you!

2004 – first cinec Award
During Cinec 2004, we received our first cine Award for the “coperate” wireless lens and camera control system.Facts by end of the year:

2007 – "Technical Achievement Award of the Academy for Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (A.M.P.A.S.)"
By 2007, the unique "coperate" wireless lens and camera control system had become established around the world. And, Christian Tschida received the "Technical Achievement Award of the Academy for Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (A.M.P.A.S.).Facts by end of the year:

2008 – second cinec Award
In 2008 we received our second cinec Award for "cdisplay II". Incorporating the latest technology, this product offered a new and unique approach to visualize a live video feed with selectable and movable lens data overlay.Facts by end of the year:

2009 – cvolution
In 2009 we launched the cvolution hand unit. Following on from the success of "coperate LCS", ergonomics and modularity had become key characteristics synonymous with our brand. However this time, the hand unit could be upgraded, configured and customized by the customer.Facts by end of the year:

2010 – 3D
In 2010 the whole world wanted to shoot 3D. Thanks to the modularity of our cvolution hand unit and the introduction of the cvolution camin 8M-TC, we were the first lens control manufacturer to offer complete independent solutions for synchronized lens and rig control.Facts by end of the year:

2011 – a new office
By 2011, we had outgrown our office and moved to a new facility where we could continue to grow our products and as a company.Facts by end of the year:

2012 – cforce & compact
In 2012 we developed “compact LCS”. This was a new range of cmotion wireless lens control aimed at the more price sensitive market. To make this system both lightweight and compact, we reestablished daisy-chain technology and developed the first cforce motor.Facts by end of the year:

2013 – broadcast
The first multi-camera broadcast events have been done with cine-lenses and cmotion`s ENG-adapters.Facts by end of the year:

2014 – cforce mini
In a partnership with ARRI, cmotion has launched the cforce mini motors as a perfect match with ARRI`s Alexa mini at the NAB 2014.Facts by end of the year:
